Whoa! My first article on Boxes and Arrows just got published. It’s called:
Talent isn’t everything: 7 habits of highly effective junior designers.
The article adds a bit of polish and elaboration to an earlier post I wrote last year. Enjoy. ;-)

Congrats and a great article. I caught it earlier today and thought it was a well written piece. Reminded me of a few different scenarios growing up where people would continually remind me that talent wasn’t everything, and those that put in the work are those that make it.

Great points. The article could easily be adapted to be about any discipline.

Thanks for the kind words guys, hopefully I’ll have more articles up on Boxes and Arrows up. Time for me to get the idea machine churning.

It is a great article. And chances are it should apply to almost any junior executive jobs out there!
To me, the I will see the “Be versatile” point to be more like “Have the desire to Learn”. Learn more and you become more rounded and hence you can apply yourself more to your company’s requirement.
If I can add one more pointer, that is “Network”!
No one can survive alone. And it is always helpful to have someone putting in a good word for you, or roping you into a challenging project.

Excellent article, I’ll give it a plug on Fashionising as I’m sure fashion designers will find it just as relevant :)
