I agree about including more hand sketches and paper prototypes and its definitely something I want to include in the next version of my portfolio.

The icon is indeed a ghost and is for Symantec Ghost, a hard drive backup utility.

Hey Matt, I printed the book on a thermal-wax laser printer that a friend had, so it was free. The exact model is Xerox Phaser 770DN.

It was printed on Construction Recycled White by French Paper Company.

And I bound it myself with a Wire-O binder.

Hope that sparks some ideas. :-)

Nice work, Chanpory! I like the symbol explorations you included with some of your projects, but it would be great to show some non-digital process as well, like hand-drawn sketches, rough mock-ups, and paper prototypes.

Most portfolios tend to showcase product over process, although the messy journey leading to the polished end result is quite valuable in itself. Seeing how a designer approaches a specific problem and how their solution evolves is tremendously helpful to both potential employers and clients alike.

By the way, what is that large icon on the right side of the first Symantec spread? Is it a ghost? ;)
